Why Sacred Time exists

Most days, the phone wins by default — not because it’s more important, but because it’s simply faster than anything else. Prayer waits. Presence waits. The people in front of you wait. Sacred Time isn’t about willpower or guilt — it’s a quiet way to decide, ahead of time, what comes first.

A sacred window is that decision made visible: a small, protected space where what matters most gets to go first.

How it works

01

Choose a sacred window.

Pick a time for prayer, Scripture, family, focus, or quiet.

02

Choose what to step away from.

Select the apps or categories you want to pause during that window.

03

Begin with grace.

Sacred Time helps you protect the moment, pause briefly, or step out with intention when real life requires it.

Built on trust

Sacred Time never blocks emergency access. Pause, Step out, and Mark complete are always available — none of them is ever gated behind premium.
Stepping out asks one gentle, honest question first — take a breath, then choose why. It never requires typing or a long wait.
You choose exactly which apps or categories get paused for each rhythm.
On iPhone, Sacred Time uses Apple's Screen Time permission — Apple keeps your exact app selections private even from Sacred Time itself.
Sacred Time is launching first on iPhone. An Android version is on the way, using Android's Usage Access permission — which works a little differently than Apple's Screen Time, but carries the same grace-based actions.

Sacred Time was built for the quiet decision to begin again — to put first things first, to make room for prayer, and to protect the small moments that shape a life.

Why I built this

I built Sacred Time because of a tension I kept noticing in my own life: I’d say prayer mattered, but my phone often got there first. I’d say my family mattered, but it was easy to be in the room with them and somewhere else entirely.

Sacred Time isn’t about guilt or willpower. It’s a small, honest boundary that helps me return to what I actually want to show up for — prayer, my family, and the quiet moments that are easy to lose to a screen.

I built it for myself first. I hope it helps you too.

Frequently asked questions

What is Sacred Time?+

Sacred Time helps you protect intentional moments by setting aside windows of time and pausing selected apps or categories during those windows.

Is Sacred Time only for Christians?+

Sacred Time is built from a Christian-friendly perspective around prayer, presence, and first things. Anyone who wants a calmer way to protect meaningful time can use it.

Is this just a screen time blocker?+

Sacred Time uses app blocking as a boundary, but the purpose is bigger than blocking. It's about protecting moments for prayer, presence, family, focus, and the rhythms that shape your life.

Can I choose which apps are paused?+

Yes. You choose the apps or categories you want Sacred Time to pause during a sacred window.

What if I need to use my phone?+

Real life happens. Tap Step out and take a breath — Sacred Time will ask gently why, then let you through. Nothing is ever locked, and emergency access is never blocked.

Is my data private?+

Yes. Your sacred windows, reflections, and app selections are stored on your device. Nothing is sent to our servers.

Does it work on iPhone?+

Yes, using Apple's Screen Time permission.

Is Android supported?+

Not yet. Sacred Time is launching first on iPhone. An Android version is on the way, using Android's Usage Access permission rather than Apple's Screen Time — blocking will work a little differently, but the same grace-based actions will be there.

Is Sacred Time free?+

Sacred Time is free to start, with two sacred rhythms and a weekly reflection. A premium upgrade unlocks unlimited rhythms and a fuller monthly and yearly reflection.

Does Sacred Time use AI?+

No. Sacred Time doesn't use AI anywhere in the app.
